Delegate Statement

ENS name: shanemac.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: In 2005-2010, I was involved in many of the conversations that became what web2 is today. We knew the problems that could happen from the decisions that were made back then but we had no power over those decisions. Today, we have the opportunity to build an open internet for all that is also governed by the people who use it.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: (Agree)
  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: (Agree)
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree)
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree)

My web3 qualifications / skills: In 2011, Adam Draper told me to buy Bitcoin and hold it for a decade. He then called me in 2015 and said Ethereum would be as important if not more important. He helped me get into the space, play the long game, and learn about everything early. Today, I'm the co-founder of a web3 company, XMTP, and looking to help shape the future of the web3 world.
